We Believe, Teach, and Confess
– Liberal Lutheranism vs. Apologia –
Unfortunately, there are many churches that give Lutherans a bad name. While they carry the name “Lutheran,” they do not behave like authentic Lutherans; they instead follow progressive agendas from our modern culture.
In contrast to these liberal Lutheran churches, we believe, teach, and confess:
Inspiration of Scripture
The Old and New Testament Scriptures are the inspired Word of God and are free from errors of any kind (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:20-21).
Homosexuality
Homosexuality is a sin against the revealed Law of God and natural law (1 Cor. 6:9-10, Rom. 1:26-27). Nevertheless, God calls all people to repent of their sins and offers them free forgiveness in the Gospel (Matt. 9:10-13).
Transgenderism
There are only two sexes, male and female, and no one can change the sex in which God created him (Gen. 1:27, Matt. 19:4).
Women’s Ordination
Only men can be called and ordained into the Office of the Ministry (pastors). Male ordination is not a mere custom of the early Christian Church. God instructs us through the Holy Scriptures that only men can serve as teachers in the Pastoral Office (1 Tim. 2:12, 1 Cor. 14:34-35, 1 Tim. 3:2).
Fellowship
Christians must not hold joint worship services with erring Christian denominations or with other religions. While Christians may, in good conscience, attend other religious services as guests or observers, they cannot share altars (communion) or pulpits (preaching) with them, without violating God’s Word (1 Cor. 10:14-22, Heb. 13:10, Deut. 6:13-15, Rom. 16:17).
